The Torah. 

Yes, it is holy and exalted.

It’s also ours; yours. 

And it longs for your attention. It wants to be loved: to be held and carried, undressed and examined and read, chanted, discussed, and then belted and dressed and lifted, and placed lovingly and confidently into its ark.

It belongs to us, and there is something very special about feeling confident in how to hold and hug a Torah. Join Rabbi Me’irah for a special afternoon hands-on teaching after our Shabbat Morning Service on July 12 at 331 Cortland  Ave from 1:30-2:30 PM. We will also go over how to come up for an aliyah.  

You will learn the ancient skills of our people, how to be up close and personal with the Torah.
