In April 2025, Alix Wall, a food journalist and contributor to The J. Jewish News of Northern California, published an article titled, Why are pickles such a big hit with S.F. religious school kids?, about the Or Shalom Community School's pickle making project!
The article has just won first place in the American Jewish Press Award for Excellence in Writing about Food and Wine!
