At Or Shalom, we believe that everyone, regardless of financial means, should be able to attend High Holy Days services and participate in the collective transformative power they enable.
We also acknowledge that, for a synagogue, putting on High Holy Days is no easy feat. The cost of running Or Shalom High Holy Days services, including space rentals, paying contractors, supplies and more, is $21,000, not to mention the mass amount of priceless volunteer labor contributed by members of our community and the countless hours of our staff.
Therefore, in the spirit of financial accessibility, while also honoring the value of labor, we ask all non-members who would like to join Or Shalom for High Holy Day services to use
this self-assessment tool to determine your financial contribution. This is an honor system, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds. We just ask that you utilize the tool, in earnest, and give what you can.
The following are the recommended High Holy Days ticket contributions, based on your financial means:
Mostly A’s–Tier 1: $360/holiday
Mostly B’s–Tier 2: $180/holiday
Mostly C’s–Tier 3: $108/holiday
Mostly D’s–Tier 4: $54/holiday
Mostly E’s–Tier 5: $0-$36/holiday
We look forward to spending the High Holy Days with you!
