For years, Or Shalom has participated in the San Francisco Interfaith Council’s winter shelter program. This year, we will cook dinner for 30-40 homeless San Franciscans and we’ll need 2 shifts of volunteers:

• 3:00 – 5:00 pm: 4-5 volunteers needed to Prep and cook the meal & prepare dessert bags at an Or Shalom member’s home.
• 6:15 – 9:00 pm: 4-6 volunteers needed to serve the meal and clean up at Canon Kip Senior Center (705 Natoma St. between 8th and 9th Streets).

Donations

• If you can’t volunteer on that day but would like to donate, we can always use a variety of drinks and desserts.
• We are also seeking a large-ish kitchen for preparing the meal.

 The interfaith winter shelter project has been housing and serving nutritious meals to our homeless neighbors since former Mayor Art Agnos asked faith communities for help in the winter of 1988. Dozens of churches and synagogues participate each year.
