Resisting Project Esther - Political Education Workshop
Sunday, October 12, 2025 • 20 Tishrei 5786
3:00 PM - 5:00 PMSt. Aidan's Episcopal Church, 101 Gold Mine DriveYou are invited to this free workshop to learn how to resist this little-known plan that right-wing extremists are using to divide people and deny our civil rights. They say they are looking out for Jews and fighting antisemitism, but a closer look tells a very different story.
There is a detailed plan called Project Esther, written by the right-wing think tank, The Heritage Foundation (the same people who brought us Project 2025). According to this plan, anyone who speaks out against the starvation and murder of civilians in the war on Gaza or expresses concern about Palestinian villagers in the West Bank is considered a terrorist. It falsely equates anti-Zionism with antisemitism. This is weaponizing antisemitism with the excuse that attacking, imprisoning, and deporting dissenters and punishing criticism is the way to protect Jews. This endangers us all, as bogus claims of anti-Semitism are used to crack down on immigrants, free speech, and our right to protest and demonstrate.
Unsuspecting Christians and Muslims as well as Jews are being drawn into supporting this curtailing of our civil liberties, thinking they are helping to protect Jews. We can't let this happen. We must stand together across faiths and social class because none of us are safe unless all of us are safe.
Help us build a powerful partnership to protect each other and protect our democracy. Social Action Circle of Or Shalom Jewish Community, along with St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) SF Bay Area are cosponsoring this educational workshop about Project Esther that will provide you with information and an action plan for how we can navigate what's ahead in these turbulent times. This will also be an opportunity to get to know each other so that we can support each other.
Please forward this invitation to others in your congregation who might be interested.
