Wednesday, April 17, 2024 9 Nisan 5784

6:30 PM - 8:30 PMin The Mission near 16th street BART

Part of the JCCSF series: Exploring Jewish Identity & Belonging: Listening Circles for Young Adults

Are you a young adult (age 21-39) and wondering how to relate to Passover and its story of liberation this year, given our current context? Would you like to learn how to empathically engage across political difference at your seder this year? Join R Faryn Borella and the JCC's Chaplain Intern / Peer Connector Carey Averbook in an intimate gathering of young adults to not be so alone in figuring out how to individually and collectively make meaning of Passover this year. We'll engage and text study and learn and practice empathic listening skills for slowed down and intentional conversation.

Location: in The Mission near 16th street BART, not the JCCSF building

Wondering if this is for you?
For this series, we are especially guided by the Jewish value of K’lal Yisrael (כְּלָל יִשְׂרָאֵל) “Jewish community as a whole or Jewish inclusivity” as we strive toward pluralism. We want to be explicit in our invitation to members of Jewish community across the political spectrum. We want you here no matter your political position, questions, or activism and as long as you can respectfully and kindly participate in spaces of mixed affinity, politics, and listening. If you have questions about whether this event is for you, you can email Carey at caverbook@jccsf.org.
