Leil Selichot: Learn High Holy Days Music!
Saturday, September 13, 2025 • 20 Elul 5785
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM331 Cortland AveIn the Ashkenazi tradition, on a Saturday approaching Rosh Hashanah, we gather to begin chanting selichot — songs of atonement and forgiveness which shepherd us into the High Holy Day season.
This year, Join R’ Faryn and Music Director Doug Mandell for a special Leil Selichot gathering! During our time together, we will learn some of the key songs, prayers and liturgy from the High Holy Days, better preparing us to be a song-full and leader-full community during the Yamim Noraim (Days of Awe). We will also engage in a ritual to reflect on the ways we — as individuals and as a collective — have missed the mark this year.
This gathering is designed and open to all, whether you have never attended a High Holy Day Service or whether you could lead one yourself! This year, as we Rise Together, we need all of our voices.
♿ Accessibility: There are no stairs to enter this space. Please read our COVID policy here.
We warmly welcome members, non-members, friends, and all who are curious to join us for the High Holy Days at Or Shalom.
This service is free and open to all—no ticket needed. Registration is appreciated.
